Dental Fluorosis 3D Animation Video
Dental Fluorosis is a condition caused by excessive intake of fluoride at the time of tooth development. It is a cosmetic problem and not a dental disease. The teeth may be strong and healthy, but the spots and stains on the enamel are permanent and may darken over time. Dental Fluorosis can occur once the tooth has erupted and usually occurs between the ages of three months to eight years. Permanent teeth are more affected by dental fluorosis than primary (baby) teeth. Fluorosis affects only the appearance of the teeth and does not result in cavities. Therefore the goal of treatment for dental fluorosis is masking the stain.
