Angioplasty Animation Video

Angioplasty is a medical procedure used to treat narrowing of the arteries from Coronary Artery Disease. This is accomplished by inflating a small balloon inside the artery to increase the blood flow to the heart. It may be performed on an emergency basis following a heart attack or on an elective basis when conservative treatment measures have failed to relieve symptoms of Coronary Artery Disease such as chest pain and shortness of breath.

Your Practice Online's 3D video of Angioplasty explains Coronary Artery Disease and Angioplasty through the use of text, voice, images, and 3D animation. Patients are instructed on normal heart anatomy, symptoms and risk factors of CAD, as well as the medical tests used to diagnose the disease. Management of Coronary Artery Disease is discussed including lifestyle changes, medications, and balloon angioplasty for patients who do not respond to medications and lifestyle changes. Patients learn what to expect during angioplasty through the use of 3D animations. After care and risks and complications are also discussed to ensure the patient is able to make an informed decision.
